I’m on a mission to reinvent health, wellness and healthcare by leveraging the power of networked entrepreneurs, innovation, technology, data, design, collaboration and community.
I believe the best way to transform healthcare is to support entrepreneurs with inspiration, education, and access to customers, capital, and other critical resources so that Healthcare Transformers can innovate more quickly.
As the co-founder and President of StartUp Health, I’m working to build an army of innovators who are passionate about transforming healthcare.
Startup Health is a global entrepreneurship development company for health and wellness entrepreneurs and represents a new model for helping innovation succeed in the health sector. StartUp Health is helping 1,000 Healthcare Transformers build growth businesses over the next decade through StartUp Health Academy, The StartUp Health Network, and The StartUp Health Innovation Fund.
I’m a serial entrepreneur, a contributing writer for TechCrunch and the co-host of StartUp Health NOW, a weekly web show about Healthcare Transformers. I’m a founding member of the Society of Participatory Medicine and on the AARP Innovation @50+ Advisory Board, the SXSW Accelerator Advisory Board and Care Innovations Advisory Board.
Previously, I co-founded OrganizedWisdom.com, a digital doctors office and I’ve been a technology entrepreneur since the mid nineties helping build The Privacy Council, Middleberg Interactive and Webstakes.com/Promotions.com, which I helped take public on Nasdaq in 1999 with my business partner of nearly 20 years, Steven Krein.
A few of my interests include working with entrepreneurs, quantified self, automating/designing behavior change for good, traveling off the beaten path, learning about new cultures and people, enjoying great food, photography, writing, graffiti art, design, experiencing inspiring architecture, day-dreaming, backgammon, bocce ball, meditating, and walking.
